HAIR/ WIG CARE & TIPS

It is important to properly care for your wigs in order to achieve maximum lifespan.

Maintaining and washing your wigs is not difficult; it just requires attention and gentle care.

This guide will cover how to properly shampoo, condition and style your wig/s as well as helpful tips for maintaining your wig.

 

HOW TO SHAMPOO

* Detangle hair with a wide tooth comb.

* Submerge your wig in a basin of warm water or wet under running water.

* Apply a generous amount of shampoo to the palm of your hand DO NOT SCRUB, RUB OR MASSAGE. Simply smooth the shampoo on the wig from the top to the tips of the hair.

* Rinse with worm water and squeeze excess water out.

 

HOW TO CONDITION WIG

* While wig is still wet apply a small amount of conditioner throughout the wig.

* Use wide tooth comb to detangle.

* Let it sit for 3 to 5 minutes then rinse thoroughly with running warm water from the top of the wig to the ends.

* You may also apply a small amount of organ oil treatment in order to add vibrancy, moisture and protection to the hair.

 

HOW TO DRY

* It's always best to air dry your wig after washing you can also use a blow dryer on low or cool setting to avoid using too much heat.

* After wig is completely dry, styling tools such as curling irons and flat irons can be used.

* For curly units you don't need to wait until its completely dry you can proceed to adding products see styling section for directions.

 

STYLING

* With our custom wig units you can always re-curl or re-straighten your hair if needed.

* Our curly unit, like our Blair unit, requires a bit more attention to maintain curls such as wetting hair using a spray bottle, moisturizing with a curling lotion,a light weight oil serum to avoid frizzing and detangle use a wide tooth comb.

Keep in mind that with all this product you might have to wash hair regularly to avoid product built up.

 

RECOMMENDED TYPE OF HAIR PRODUCTS TO USE

* Sulfate free shampoo and conditioner to wash.

* Light weight oil serum for moisture and to control frizz.

 

WIG CARE TIPS

* Wash wig every 2- 3 weeks of wearing. 

* Always comb hair from the ends and work your way up.

* Store your wig on a wig stand after you take off or if you are giving it a break store in a zip lock bag.

* Do not wear your wig while sleeping, if the wig is glued down you must sleep with a bonnet on, sleeping without anything it may result in shedding, breakage and matting.

* Avoid contact with chlorinated water, sea water and hot water to avoid damage to your wig.

* When washing your curly unit, you should always scrunch the hair, this will help to keep its true curl nice and defined.
